Terraria: Dig, Build, Meh...

At first glance Terraria is Minecraft 2D... Well. Yeah, it basically is, but I have to admit, this game just might be a more finished and sometimes more challenging version of Minecraft, yet also much more forgiving. You start off with a few basic tools, no tutorial except some good advice from a guide who just happens to be wandering around in your area. Your goal in the game is to create a town with a merchant, nurse, demolitionist, and more. You have to cut wood build homes and craft tools and decorations for your home......

You know what I'm trying really reallllly hard not to compare Terraria any more to Minecraft than I might already have, but seriously, the developer of Terraria has some balls! Ok, Notch might have gotten the idea of Minecraft

Minecraft Complete Full Version Release Date!!!!!

According to Notch's developers/personal Minecraft blog, the completed version of Minecraft will be released November 11th, 2011 during MinecraftCon! The location/pricing/events for MinecraftCon is still in question but the release dates is pretty set in stone... Hopefully.

MinecraftCon might be hosted in Las Vegas, which is no problem for me because I can just driver over there, but the pricing is a tad bit too high for my budget and for many others according to a poll set up on Notch's blog. Entrance will be $90 without transportation and hotel fees, which is a bit of a stretch for many who live far away from Las Vegas. Granted you don't need to get a expensive hotel on the Strip, it's the travel expenses I'm most worried about.

Universe Sandbox: Is this what I think this is?

I was browsing the games on Steam today and something caught my eye on the front page. One of the games on the featured games list was name Universe Sandbox, and I'm a sucker for almost any type of simulator game so I did some reading.

Steam summarizes it as so:

"Create and destroy on a scale you’ve never imagined with the ultimate space simulator.

Harness the power to create black holes, collide galaxies, and manipulate gravity with just a few clicks. Inspired by the software astronomers use to unlock the mysteries of our universe, never before has astronomy been so interactive or so much fun.

Spawn a massive moon to tear apart Saturn’s rings or launch a rogue star to rip the planets from their orbits around our sun. After unleashing catastrophic destruction, create your own solar system and share it with friends."

In my honest opinion, this is a pretty awesome sounding game. The only thing missing for me is the ability to create star ports and planets, but

Sam and Max: Hit The Road

The first time I played Sam and Max: Hit the Road was when I was in elementary school. My sister had a habit of borrowing PC games from the library, and I'd find myself playing the games too, because she'd force me too. I found out that the game is free to download now online as long as you can find a way to execute it. It's a very old game, so you're going to need a DOS emulator. I used DOSbox, but ScummVM maybe considered a little more "user friendly", but not by much.

I didn't even know there was a comic book and a TV show and new 3d games for Sam and Max until I found the show on

Minecraft BETA

If you ever find yourself wanting to play the most casual game ever. This is the game you should be playing. There are two versions currently available, Minecraft Classic and Minecraft Beta.

In Minecraft Classic, you find yourself in a randomly generated world with an arsenal of blocks and plants. You can build forts, underground caverns, and even a pikachu. Though the concept is simple, Minecraft Classic is still a big hit despite all the updates for Minecraft Beta. Minecraft Classic is free to play, and you can try it out for yourself via this link.

I had the good fortune to buy Minecraft when it was still Alpha. If you buy it now you get all the updates and

Portal 2: Solo and Co-op

At this point everyone should know what Portal is, especially if you're reading my blog. Portal 2 is the sequel to Portal with twice the game time and a separate co-op campaign mode.

Much like the previous Portal you still play as Chell, the mysterious mute test subject, who has no choice but to take GlaDoS' tests in hopes of escaping the Aperture Science Labs alive. Portal 2 transitions from the first game very well by placing you were you should be right when you end the first game. In the first game the only character you really ever interacted with was GlaDos. Though it was
